June 2023 – Nuestra, Windale Developers, and Nubian Markets were awarded the 2022 Excellence Award for Community Development at the Massachusetts Housing Investment Corporation (MHIC) Annual Meeting & Awards Ceremony.
The award was given for "the creative, collaborative approach that overcame many hurdles to secure a home for a new minority-owned grocery at Bartlett Station that will address unmet healthy food needs, offer the first Halal butcher shop in Roxbury, and provide employment in living wage, career path jobs for residents of Nubian Square."
