This Saturday, June 4th, 46 teams assembled in Roxbury to compete in a community-wide clean-up challenge. Led by local block captains, the team members picked up rakes and shovels and descended on the neighborhood to eliminate trash and plant new flowers. The event marked Nuestra’s 11th Annual Cleanest Streets Contest, which drew the participation of 250 volunteers, representing children, adults, elders, and 46 streets. The day concluded with a barbeque to celebrate volunteers’ determination in restoring the beauty of the neighborhood.
