On Saturday, June 13, Nuestra held its annual Cleanest Streets Contest, an event for community members to collaborate in improving the appearance of their neighborhoods. Enthusiastic local residents removed garbage, planted flower beds, and competed for the title of Cleanest Street. The event grew even larger in 2010, drawing participation from over 300 volunteers working on almost forty streets.
